Sarah Franco, originally from a suburb of Chicago received her MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. She studied ballet at Bringham Young University where she toured with the Theatre Ballet and Ballet Showcase Companies in addition to teaching jazz and ballet classes. Sarah has performed and choreographed as guest artist with Freespace Dance Company in Chicago. She has also performed works with the University of Utah's Performing Dancers Company in works by Abby Fiat, Eric Handman, Satu Hummasti, Kaye Richards, and Brent Schneider. She has performed nationally and internationally at festivals in Spain, New York City and Salt Lake City.

Sarah has taught ballet, modern and jazz technique, composition, improvisation, creative process, dance conditioning, and Pilates apparatus conditioning. Her teaching residencies include: the College of Southern Idaho, Motions Dance Idaho, and Freespace Dance Company Chicago. Sarah enjoys choreographing because of the opportunity it gives her to explore inside of movement. In her most recent work, a presence of departed acts, Sarah worked collaboratively with dancers as they explored the role of memory in the creation of personal identity. She continues to research how the collaborative process creates community and connection between richly diverse communities.
